Friday rotations (9/20)

9/19/2013

Mr. Williams' rotation will finish the articles from yesterday.  If you finish early, you should do an additional article.  It will save you time later if you get it done now.

Ms. Morris' rotation will finish the video from Thursday, discuss the patterning notes (examples: 1st group, 2nd group, 2nd group again, 3rd group), work on finding patterns in school and in the work we've done so far, and talk about different ways of educating teenagers.

Mr. Salazar's rotation will focus on you demonstrating your knowledge of the ideas we've been learning about so far.  Here are the instructions.

Thursday Rotations (9/19)

9/18/2013

For students in Ms. Morris' class, you watched these two videos and taking notes on the words and ideas that repeat.

For students in Salazar's class, here is a document that has all the work with directions.

For students in Mr. Williams' rotation, you will begin with creating a document.
  1. Go to the page for your class period.  Fill out the form.  Title: P1 Brain Article Notes.
  2. Check your email, and when you get the link, open the document.
  3. Go to bit.ly/p1brain (or use the playlist at the bottom of this post).  You are going to choose three articles from this playlist (or from the links in Step 2 of the playlist) and read them.
  4. For each of the three articles you read, you need to do the following:

--Title and author of the article
--What the article says about the brain, learning, and teenagers
               --What you found most interesting
--Questions you have, or connections you made to something else you've seen/read

If you don't finish three articles, you will finish on Friday.

Instead of using the link in step three, you can use the links from this playlist (note: it's the same thing).
